Murray Hotel

This is a remodeled old hotel dating to the 1800s in downtown Silver City. The restoration has been very well done. The hotel is generally clean and quiet, and the help is supportive. There are some small problems, such as low water pressure and varying water temperature in the shower, very few TV channels and sometimes poor reception, and no parking lot. You have to park on the street. But overall it's charming and enjoyable. The mattresses are in good shape, the lamps all work, the towels are fairly new, and it has a great feel to it. It's also walking distance to everything in the old downtown. Silver City has had a true art renaissance, and most of the old storefronts of the old downtown have shops now. There is a good brew pub with good bar food about a block and a half away and a good coffee shop about a block and a half away in the other direction. Lots of fun things to do in the area, including visiting Cliff Dwellings and a lake, lots of hiking, wineries, the city of Rock State park, and the Catwalk.

Stayed at the Murray Hotel and had a pleasant experience. The hotel is right in the center of downtown, so it’s very easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and other spots nearby. The room was clean -It had a nice historic charm while still being well maintained , and the staff provided good service whenever we needed help. The breakfast was simple but neat and a nice way to start the day. Overall, a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Silver City.

The art deco style isn't my thing, but that's more just a personal preference. My friends enjoyed it. The price and location were right for this place so we stayed here. The room was fairly comfortable and everything was in working order. There was a lot of space in the room though the bathroom was small. There was also a surprising amount of storage in the room. No issues. The location is very convenient to the main street in town. Note that during a busy time parking could be fairly complicated. It's public/street parking only. Later in the evening when everyone cleared out, we were able to move our cars close.

Silver City and Murray Hotel were very interesting. I wish I had more time to spend there. I think there are 21 century ghosts there, my daughter and I heard a mobil phone ringing and put on hold in the hall of the 3rd floor. We surmised he died waiting on hold.

Exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable and unbeatable location for old town proximity. Breakfast and coffee very good. Note, only negative was/is no hotel parking lot (i.e. parking on street only). Would definitely stay at the Murray the next time we are in Silver City. p.s. Don't miss the Jalisco Cafe for great Mexican fare!

We love the hotel and our room! Beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the location is absolutely perfect. We will be back!

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. The blinds, toliet, sink, and bathtub were stained and worn but the art deco lobby and front desk staff professional demeanor won me over. Breakfast is served in a large room off the front lobby. The elevator worked smoothly. Watch for homeless, mentally challenged people out on the streets after dark. Police drive by frequently to keep them at bay.

Had a wonderful stay at this quaint hotel. The staff were phenomenal and genuinely helpful. The "queen" bed was actually "full" size (noticeably narrower and shorter than the Queen bed l sleep on at my own house, so l DO have a basis for comparison). As such, that part was disappointing, however, the mattress was newer and not slumped or worn out in the middle, which l appreciated very much. They welcomed my dog, too, so that was wonderful! Next time (yes, l will go back), l will ensure the bed is a Queen-sized bed and not a Full-sized bed! TONS of fun places to see and eat at within walking distance of the hotel! Rhus us a definite "do-again" for me!
